Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks a Standardized Patient to portray patient behaviors, emotions, and symptoms for health care student simulations. Training is provided for portrayal, assessment, and communication.

The role involves observing, proctoring clinical exams, and assisting in quality assurance of videos and evaluations. Work hours are on-call, including weekday evenings and weekends, under supervision of a Manager.

Qualifications

• No previous work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with staff, faculty and other standardized patients.
• Maintains confidentiality of all information related to cases, student feedback, or evaluations.
• Provides constructive verbal and written feedback within a structured format.
• Observes details during simulated encounters and recalls details afterward.
• Accurately completes checklists during assessment of health care students.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
