Job summary

Potawatomi Hotel & Casino is seeking a Marketplace Cook 1 to help maintain food quality and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced setting. Starting pay is $15.44 per hour, with flexibility to work various shifts and learn advanced culinary skills.

You will perform basic to intermediate cooking tasks, assemble finished dishes, maintain a sanitary kitchen, and support the culinary team across venues as needed while adhering to internal controls and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 3 to 6 months of related cooking experience preferred.
• Ability to successfully achieve ServSafe certification within 90 days.
• Ability to successfully complete Culinary Academy within 12 months.
• Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information.
• Ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
• Ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to intermediate food preparation and cooking duties, including washing, peeling, cutting, and measuring ingredients; preparing salads and cold foods; and fry, stock, and batch cooking.
• Assemble, garnish, and finalize presentation of completed dishes.
• Use and clean kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils safely.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment; work closely with Stewards.
• Learn to perform more advanced kitchen duties and assist other culinary team members.
• Assist in storing and rotating inventories as needed.
• Perform opening and closing duties as needed.
• Work at other kitchens/venues as assigned based on business needs.
• Perform duties in compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.
