Job summary

Kroger is seeking a cashier/checker to provide outstanding customer service at 201 S Main St, East Peoria, IL 61611. You will greet customers, process transactions, and ensure accurate handling of cash, checks, and electronic payments while following store policies and safety guidelines.

The role requires attentiveness to promotions, coupons, and loyalty programs, with a focus on loss prevention and a welcoming store environment for every customer.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in the store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons).
• Maintain awareness of cash shortages/overages and help control loss.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and report pricing discrepancies.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons; stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures; report unsafe conditions.
