Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring a Cashier/Checker at our Westchester, IL store. You will greet customers, process transactions, and help ensure a fast, friendly checkout experience.

You will operate the POS, manage various tender types, and uphold loss prevention and safety standards in a busy on-site environment. Qualifications include basic math skills and prior experience as a cashier or bagger is a plus.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers visibly at the check lane.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and other tender types per policy.
• Follow cash handling limits and work to prevent loss.
• Adhere to age-restricted sale guidelines for items like alcohol and tobacco.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator and follow stamps/gift cards/coupons policies.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; maintain food safety and safety compliance.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions; perform basic equipment checks.
