Job summary

King Soopers is seeking a Front End/Cashier with a focus on delivering an outstanding customer experience. You will greet customers, process transactions, and operate the POS system while adhering to company policies and safety guidelines.

You will handle multiple tender types, maintain accurate cash handling, and assist customers with product information while representing the Kroger family values of respect and integrity.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at checkout.
• Process transactions quickly and accurately.
• Operate POS system and handle cash, checks, credit and other tenders per policy.
• Adhere to cash-handling limits and loss-prevention rules.
• Enforce guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow price-change procedures.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Follow food safety regulations where applicable.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report to management.
• Inspect equipment and request repairs when needed.
• Provide product information to customers across departments.
• Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and calmly.
• Be honest and protect customer and business information.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as required.
