Job summary

King Soopers in Denver seeks a friendly Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a welcoming store environment. You will greet customers, process transactions, and assist shoppers with product information and promotions.

Responsibilities include operating the POS, handling various payment types, adhering to loss-prevention policies, and staying current with ads while maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, coupons and loyalty offers per policy.
• Adhere to cash-handling limits and loss-prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines for restricted items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report to management.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs.
• Provide product information and assist customers throughout the store.
• Follow all laws and company guidelines, and work cooperatively in fast-paced environments.
