Job summary

Millstone Township School District is seeking a Substitute Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports instructional staff by assisting individual students or small groups, ensuring an inclusive, safe learning environment.

Responsibilities include implementing student accommodations and IEP supports under certified staff guidance, supervising students during non-instructional times, and assisting with daily living activities as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED equivalent).
• Clear State of New Jersey Criminal History Record Check (fingerprinting) approved for public school employment.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Patience, empathy, and adaptability when supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Support: Assist individual students or small groups with instructional tasks and classroom activities as directed by the certified classroom teacher.
• Behavioral & IEP Support: Help carry out student accommodations and support strategies outlined in IEPs under the guidance of certified staff.
• Daily Living & Personal Care Support: Provide physical or personal care assistance as needed (e.g., mobility, physical support, or assistance during lunch and transitions).
• Student Supervision: Assist in supervising students during non-instructional times, including arrival/dismissal, recess, hallway transitions, and cafeteria duty.
• Classroom Environment: Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly environment, reporting any student progress, behavioral concerns, or incidents to the classroom teacher or school administration.
• Confidentiality: Adhere to district policies and state regulations to protect student privacy and special education information.
