Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Redwood Empire in Sebastopol, CA is seeking a Retail Assistant Manager for a flexible part-time or full-time role. The ASM will lead daily operations, supervise staff and volunteers, and partner with the Store Manager to drive performance and customer service.

The position reports to the Retail Store Manager, with duties including payroll records, training, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Two years’ supervisory/management experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Good math skills.
• Experience supervising staff, clients, or volunteers with feedback.
• Ability to handle inquiries and complaints professionally.
• Clear communication and motivational skills.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook (basic).
• Organized and able to work independently.
• Valid CA Class C Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily store operations in coordination with the Store Manager.
• Supervise staff and volunteers and ensure training and supervision.
• Support payroll records and timekeeping.
• Address issues with DGR team members and donors with timely feedback.
• Identify opportunities to improve store operations and outcomes.
• Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and asset protection.
• Assist with bank deposits and cash handling as needed.
• Promote a positive work environment and customer service excellence.
