Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join its regional float pool. You will provide direct, age-appropriate patient care under the direction of a physician across multiple clinics in the Tappahannock region and beyond, including family medicine, pediatrics, and specialty clinics.

This role supports scheduling flexibility, with shifts assigned two weeks in advance and occasional mid-day moves as staffing requires.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification: Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) from a national association.
• AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
• 1 year of medical assistant experience in last 3 years if not graduate; none if graduate.
• Proficient with computers and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-appropriate patient care under physician direction.
• Assist with clinical tasks and patient flow across clinics.
• Maintain patient records and support communication with care team.
