Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Rocky Mount, Virginia is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support both inpatient and outpatient services with a flexible schedule. You will work under a licensed physical therapist to execute the plan of care and adapt activities to patient age and development.

The position requires graduation from an accredited PTA program and Virginia PTA licensure, plus strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to coordinate care with the health care team and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service and teamwork skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform selected procedures under the direction of a licensed physical therapist and plan of care.
• Provide patient care based on therapist evaluation and plan of care considering patient age and development.
• Coordinate patient care and clinical activities with healthcare team and families.
• Document in the medical record and complete required forms per policy and regulation.
• Collaborate with support staff, volunteers and students to ensure quality care.
