Job summary

Rehab Associates of Central Virginia Inc. in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our outpatient team.

You will implement PT programs, follow recovery plans, and deliver therapies tailored to each patient’s needs. The ideal candidate will graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program, hold Virginia licensure or be eligible to obtain it, and have CPR certification with experience in exercise and manual-based therapies.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant or ability to obtain it in Virginia.
• Previous outpatient setting experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Exercise, sports rehab, and manual-based skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines.
• Responsible for timely documentation, including daily notes, progress reports, and incident reports.
• Delivers comprehensive patient care using active and passive manual therapies, therapeutic massage, and modality treatments.
• Administers traction to relieve neck and back pain.
• Instructs and assists patients in learning and improving functional activities such as ambulation and daily living tasks.
• Observes patients during treatments, documents responses, and reports to the Physical Therapist and Clinical Director.
• Fits, adjusts, and trains patients in use of braces, prostheses, and supportive devices.
• Coordinates with PT staff and other health team members to plan and modify treatment programs.
• Measures patient range of motion, body measurements, and vital signs to assess treatment effects.
