Millwood Hospital in Arlington, TX seeks a dependable Behavioral Health Transportation Specialist (MHT) on a PRN schedule to transport behavioral health patients safely and efficiently. You will operate shuttle vans, assist patients, and perform basic vehicle checks while maintaining safety and courtesy at all times.

Ideal candidates have a valid Texas driver license, clean driving record, and strong communication skills; prior van driving experience for mental health populations is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience with mental health populations preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver License.
• Clean Driving Record (Verifiable).
• 1 year experience driving passenger van (up to 15 passengers) preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge preferred.
• Ability to pass initial and periodic drug screening.
• Ability to pass background check.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices.
• Strong communication skills to interact professionally with patients and team members.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to safety standards in previous driving roles.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate shuttle van to transport patients between facilities, appointments, and community locations.
• Assist patients with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous support while ensuring their safety throughout transit.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to maintain a secure transportation environment.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle condition in accordance with organizational standards.
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and other stakeholders to coordinate schedules and address any transportation needs or concerns.
• Handle heavy lifting when assisting patients with mobility devices or luggage as required.
