Job summary

Say Yes Buffalo Partnership in Buffalo, NY seeks Substitute Teachers to support classroom instruction on a per diem basis, following established lesson plans while maintaining a safe, nurturing environment that supports early development.

You will work with the Lead Teacher or Teacher Assistant to ensure continuity of learning, uphold OCFS Day Care regulations, and implement a play-based, equitable early childhood program. Strong communication with families is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or CDA credential is preferred.
• Experience with preschool-aged children (ages 3-5) preferred.
• Current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
• Successful OCFS background requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain active supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supports multiple classrooms, age groups, or locations as needed.
• Implements play-based learning experiences supporting children's development.
• Builds positive relationships with children through respectful interactions.
• Documents incidents and classroom events per program procedures.
• Assists in maintaining organized, engaging classrooms and learning centers.
• Greets families and communicates progress with Lead Teacher.
• Adheres to health and safety procedures at all times.
• Performs other duties as directed.
