Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center, a 124-bed acute care hospital in Sparks, Nevada, is seeking a per diem Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and skin puncture with skill and speed.

You will identify patients, record requisitions, and collect blood samples while delivering courteous, professional service to patients and staff. The position offers a flexible schedule and benefits through UHS.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• State Laboratory Assistant licensure required
• Current BLS certification
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Draws blood competently, consistently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible.
• Identifies the patient using the two-unique identifiers described in the hospital’s policy before services are provided.
• Records phlebotomy requisitions on log.
• Displays courteous, professional manner toward patients, co-workers, nursing and medical staff.
