Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV seeks a per diem Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and capillary sampling with emphasis on patient comfort and accuracy in a busy lab.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, blood cultures, specimen labeling and log records; must identify patient using two unique identifiers and follow hospital policies. Per diem, flexible schedule with benefits through UHS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• State Laboratory Assistant licensure is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.

• Draws blood competently, consistently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible.
• Identifies the patient using the two-unique identifiers described in the hospital’s policy before services are provided.
• Records phlebotomy requisitions on log.

This Phlebotomist opportunity is per diem, and offers a convenient flexible schedule.This dynamic individual will perform venipuncture and skin puncture competently and expediently. Has working knowledge of test requirements, assists in clinical laboratory. Responsibilities include venipuncture, blood cultures and capillary blood samples.
