Job summary

Sylvan Learning is seeking a dedicated tutor to join our educational team. The role involves tutoring reading, language arts, and/or math for elementary to high school students, providing personalized instruction to help them catch up or get ahead.

Ideal candidates are state-certified teachers with a PEL in Secondary Education and can commit to 6-10 hours per week, 4-7pm on weekdays and Saturday mornings. We value proficiency with learning technology, strong communication, and a passion for

Qualifications

• State-certified teacher with a PEL in Secondary Education (working towards, current, or expired).
• Ability to work 6-10 hours a week during 4-7pm Mon–Thu and 10am-2pm Sat.
• Proficiency in learning technology to facilitate instruction and engagement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with diverse learners.
• A passion for education and helping students succeed academically.
• Higher salary for candidates who can teach ACT/SAT prep.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring in reading, language arts, and/or math to students of various ages.
• Deliver personalized instruction and track student progress.
• Coordinate with parents on progress and needs; participate in lesson planning as needed.
