Job summary

YMCA of Greater Toledo is seeking a Part-Time Swim Instructor to join our friendly team. This onsite role involves teaching life-saving swimming skills to everyone—from infants to adults—while promoting water safety and confidence in the water.

You'll guide learners through multiple strokes, support families, and contribute to a fun, energetic pool environment. Certification in CPR-PR and first aid preferred; prior swim-instruction experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in four swim strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly) or equivalent.
• CPR-PR, First Aid, and AED certifications must be current.
• Fundamentals of Teaching Swim Lessons and Youth/Adult Swim Lessons certifications preferred.
• Experience teaching swimming to children and adults is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach life-saving swimming skills to participants of all ages.
• Instruct and model proper strokes while promoting water safety.
• Support families and create a fun, engaging pool environment.
• Follow YMCA policies and safety guidelines.
