Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• State/city-issued security license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law; may include drug screening.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws; may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to museum visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of galleries and building areas to identify unusual activity or security concerns.
• Monitor visitor flow to protect artwork and property while maintaining a professional presence.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other events following post orders and procedures.
• Document patrols and incidents and communicate information to site leadership.
