Job summary

Garden Grove Unified School District is seeking substitutes to operate school buses for assigned routes, transporting students and groups to and from schools, events, and field trips.

Substitutes typically work about 5 hours daily, Monday through Friday. Applicants must have a valid California Class A or B driver license with passenger endorsement, a School Bus Driver Certificate, First Aid/CPR, and must complete a district application.

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating a motor vehicle, preferably with school-aged children.
• Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver License with passenger endorsement.
• Must possess and maintain a School Bus Driver Certificate; CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus on assigned routes according to schedules.
• Picks up and discharges students at designated stops and communicates with teachers/parents as needed.
• Perform daily safety checks and routine maintenance on the bus.
• Assist students with disabilities to board or alight the bus.
• Transport students on field trips and athletic events.
• Keep trip records and report incidents as required.
• May perform overtime driving duties as assigned.
