Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Licensure as required by the State of Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy treatments under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Contributes to development, implementation of, and progression of patient treatment and modifies treatment as necessary.
• Completes documentation and adheres to policies, procedures and current standards of clinical practice.
• Participates in patient care conferences and program development.
• Coordinates with other disciplines for effective total patient care.
• Assures delivery of quality care and participates in discharge planning to support continued patient care.
• Maintains the clinical expertise through continuing education.
• Supervises students and volunteers and represents the department to family, visitors, and staff.
• Communicates effectively with department staff, company personnel, patients and families.
• Assists in securing equipment and supplies; performs other duties as assigned.
