Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD, seeks a part-time Physical Therapy Assistant to support licensed physical therapists in a rehabilitation unit. You will deliver treatment within your license scope, assist with plan of care, and educate patients and families to promote recovery.

This per diem, day-shift role emphasizes discharge planning, collaboration with the care team, and ongoing assessment of progress. A PTA program graduate with MD licensure eligibility and BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a physical therapist assistant program accredited by APTA.
• State of Maryland Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligible to obtain licensure prior to hire date.
• American Heart Association BLS.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment and services within PTA scope of practice and as allowed by law.
• Implement the written treatment plan and administer treatment to each patient per goals.
• Train patients and families in the use of medical equipment and recommend equipment as needed.
• Participate in discharge planning by communicating with patients, families and the care team.
• Continuously assess patient status and outcomes, reviewing goals with patient and family.
