Job summary

Maine Veterans’ Homes is seeking an MDS Nurse (RN) to coordinate and complete MDS assessments in compliance with federal and state regulations. The role partners with the interdisciplinary team to ensure precise documentation, appropriate reimbursement, and high-quality resident care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active Maine RN license in good standing.
• Prior MDS experience required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Complete and coordinate MDS assessments
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all MDS submissions
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary team members to gather required documentation
• Monitor documentation to support coding and reimbursement accuracy
• Participate in care plan development and updates as needed
• Stay current with CMS guidelines and regulatory changes
• Assist with audits and quality assurance initiatives
