Job summary

Hotel Indigo Baton Rouge is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician for part-time, hourly work on-site in Baton Rouge, LA. You will perform repairs across guest rooms, common areas, and systems, with proactive maintenance logging and a focus on safety and guest satisfaction.

The role requires ability to lift up to 60 lbs, work outdoors/indoors, and flexible availability including some evenings or weekends. A positive guest-first attitude and reliable craftsmanship are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, repair or a hands-on trade (HVAC, plumbing, electrical a plus).
• Comfortable working independently and prioritizing tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the interior and exterior of the building — guest rooms, meeting rooms, laundry, lighting, HVAC, ventilation, water treatment, and the pool.
• Inspect hotel systems and equipment to make sure everything runs safely and efficiently.
• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical/electrical equipment, HVAC units, refrigeration and plumbing, with accurate work records.
• Respond quickly to guest room maintenance requests and hazards.
• Keep the maintenance shop clean, organized, and secure.
• Communicate hazards, emergencies or security concerns to management right away.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of hotel grounds.
• Deliver friendly, go-the-extra-mile service any time you interact with guests.
