Job summary

Hotel Indigo Baton Rouge Downtown is seeking a detail-obsessed Housekeeper/Housekeeping Inspector for a dual role. You will clean guest rooms to exacting standards and inspect for quality and safety. This full-time, hourly position requires a sharp eye for detail, strong communication, and the stamina to lift up to 25 lbs.

Weekend and holiday shifts may be needed, and bilingual skills are a plus. You will help train new staff, report maintenance issues, and contribute to a culture that

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience required; hotel inspection or supervisory experience a big plus.
• Sharp eye for detail — you notice the things other people walk right past.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs throughout your shift.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare guest rooms to exacting standards, including beds, dusting, vacuuming, and restocking amenities.
• Inspect completed rooms for quality, cleanliness, and safety before release to guests.
• Spot-check housekeeping staff work and provide friendly, constructive feedback.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and supply shortages promptly.
• Maintain accurate room status logs and communicate with the front desk on room readiness.
• Help train new housekeeping team members on cleaning standards and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with brand and safety standards (OSHA, bloodborne pathogens, chemical handling).
• Assist with deep-cleaning projects and turnover during high-occupancy periods.
