Job summary

The Lakes Home Care Services is seeking caring aides to support clients at home under established care plans. You will assist with bathing, dressing, meals, and mobility, observe patient conditions, and report changes to the supervising nurse.

Applicants should meet training requirements, maintain CPR certification, complete Maxim’s screening and competency program, and demonstrate safe care practices in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Meets training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions and document care given.
• Current CPR certification in accordance with state regulation.
• PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations.
• Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients per plan of care: baths, oral hygiene, dressing, toileting, feeding, etc.
• Take and record vital signs when ordered (temperature, pulse, respiration, BP) with competency.
• Support safe transfer, ambulation and activity as prescribed.
• Perform range of motion and simple procedures as ordered by extender therapy (with competency).
• Complete patient laundry and maintain safety using equipment properly.
• Observe and document patient condition; communicate changes to supervising nurse.
• Follow plan of care and complete all assigned tasks.
• Communicate clearly with client, family/caregiver and office.
• Observe safety practices and emergency procedures as needed.
