Job summary

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh is seeking an Event Setup & Facilities Assistant (Part-Time). You will assist with setup, breakdown, and maintenance of event spaces under the Facilities Manager and Events Supervisor, ensuring all specifications are met.

During off-peak seasons you will help with facility projects and housekeeping to maintain operational efficiency, with a focus on reliability and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate reliable and prompt attendance.
• Must manage time and complete tasks on schedule and efficiently.
• Prior experience working in event setup or facilities preferred.
• Driver’s license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble, and move event equipment (tables, chairs, podiums, etc.).
• Set up event spaces according to specifications and timelines.
• Clean floors before setup and after teardown.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of event spaces and storage areas.
• Coordinate with the Event Supervisor to ensure requirements are met.
• Perform post-event teardown and proper storage of equipment.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness during season.
• Report damage to Event Supervisor.
• Assist with off-season facilities projects and housekeeping as needed.
