Job summary

Family House seeks a Facilities Associate to maintain and improve the Pittsburgh facility and grounds. You will handle routine maintenance, housekeeping support, and event setup to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for guests, staff, and volunteers.

Collaborating across departments, you’ll contribute to safety initiatives and overall operational upkeep, including snow removal and grounds care, while adhering to organizational procedures.

Qualifications

• Must read and write in English and follow instructions.
• Able to read simple blueprints.
• Capable of safely handling and using common tools.
• Able to operate maintenance equipment including snow blowers and lawn mowers.
• Valid PA Driver's License with no recent violations.
• Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays; on-call every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks throughout the facility.
• Complete minor repairs (plumbing, painting, furniture assembly, bulb replacement).
• Assist with room inspections and safety concerns; respond to requests.
• Support facility projects, renovations and vendor coordination.
• Move furniture, equipment and supplies as needed.
• Document maintenance activities in system (TELS).
• Assist with snow removal.
• Maintain cleanliness in common areas and exterior spaces.
• Support housekeeping during high occupancy or staffing shortages.
• Monitor exterior lighting and report safety concerns.
• Assist with safety checks and emergency preparedness.
• Support event setup and breakdown.
