Job summary

Hamilton Nursing and Rehab in Detroit, MI is actively seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for part-time and PRN roles within our rehabilitation team. You will support residents to improve independence and daily functioning through individualized OT plans.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, monitor progress, educate caregivers, and maintain compliant documentation. This role emphasizes flexible scheduling and meaningful resident impact.

Qualifications

• Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Michigan
• Graduate of an accredited OTA program
• Current BLS certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the rehabilitation team

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing individualized occupational therapy treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions to improve residents' strength, coordination, mobility, and activities of daily living
• Monitor resident progress and communicate changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist and care team
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies to promote continued progress and independence
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow all clinical, facility, and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with rehabilitation and interdisciplinary teams to support positive resident outcomes
