Job summary

New Season in Hickory, NC is actively seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC) for a part-time IOP position. You will conduct intakes, assessments, and counseling sessions, delivering evidence-based care in a supportive outpatient setting.

You will collaborate with medical and treatment teams, maintain compliant documentation, and contribute to program development while pursuing professional growth within a national MAT network.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina CADC required.
• Master’s degree in Counseling or related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year of substance use disorder counseling experience.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient intakes, admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
• Complete psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based approaches.
• Facilitate SAIOP and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) group therapy.
• Provide counseling per part-time schedule and document accordingly.
• Identify behavioral health needs and coordinate care.
• Educate patients on addiction, recovery, relapse prevention, and coping strategies.
• Obtain urine drug screens and document patient information.
• Maintain HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and CARF compliant records.
• Collaborate with physicians and treatment teams to ensure care.
• Participate in community outreach and program development initiatives.
