Job summary

Optometrists (ODs) are sought to provide comprehensive optometric care in Skilled Nursing Facilities across the United States. You’ll choose your schedule—from one day to full-time—and Medical Director Services will provide patients, coordinate scheduling, and handle billing so you can focus on care.

Role includes comprehensive eye exams, vision evaluations, managing ocular conditions, diabetic eye care, glaucoma screening, and referrals when needed.

Qualifications

• OD degree from an accredited institution.
• Active and unrestricted optometry license in the state of employment.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations.
• Perform routine vision evaluations.
• Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions.
• Assess visual acuity and refractive needs.
• Prescribe eyeglasses and other corrective measures.
• Conduct diabetic eye evaluations and monitoring.
• Screen and monitor glaucoma and cataracts.
• Educate patients and provide treatment recommendations.
• Refer to ophthalmology or other specialists when needed.
• Document using facility EMR systems (PointClickCare, SigmaCare).
