Job summary

Medical Director Services is seeking compassionate Optometrists to provide comprehensive eye care in skilled nursing facilities across GA. You choose your days and hours—one day a week to full time—and we handle patient assignment, scheduling, and billing.

You'll perform eye exams, monitor diabetic patients, prescribe glasses, and coordinate with facility staff. Active OD license required, strong communication, reliable transportation; new grads welcome.

Qualifications

• OD degree and active, unrestricted OD license in the employment state
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Reliable transportation to assigned facilities
• SNF experience is a plus, new graduates welcome

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive optometric care to residents in skilled nursing facilities
• Perform eye examinations and routine vision evaluations
• Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions
• Evaluate visual acuity and refractive needs; prescribe eyeglasses and other corrections
• Conduct diabetic eye evaluations and monitoring
• Screen for glaucoma and cataracts and monitor progression
• Assess ocular health and age-related vision changes
• Educate patients and provide treatment recommendations
• Refer to ophthalmology or specialists when needed
• Document in facility EMR systems (PointClickCare, SigmaCare)
• Coordinate with operations team for scheduling and case management
