Job summary

Burlington School District is seeking an Intersect Tutor (On-Call) to provide individualized academic support to K–12 students across the district, including possible hospital assignments.

The role emphasizes building relationships, supporting diverse learning needs, and collaborating with school teams. Compensation is hourly and on an on-call basis, with flexible hours based on referrals and tutor availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; candidates currently pursuing a degree in education or related field will be considered.
• Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or support roles preferred.
• Teaching licensure is not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one academic instruction to K–12 students in school, home, or hospital settings as assigned.
• Support students facing academic, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships to promote engagement and success.
• Collaborate with school staff and related service providers as needed.
• Adapt instruction to meet individual student needs and learning goals.
• Maintain communication and documentation related to student progress.
