Job summary

Guidepost Montessori is seeking friendly substitute teachers to support our mixed-age classrooms when full-time teachers are out. No formal Montessori training required; training provided during orientation.

This on-call role offers flexible hours and the chance to work with young children 0–6. You’ll help maintain a calm, engaging learning environment, collaborate with school staff, and may transition into a full-time assistant teacher role.

Qualifications

• Meet state education and experience requirements
• Negative TB test within the last 12 months
• Valid state background check
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Warm, friendly, and dependable demeanor
• Passion for working with young children

Responsibilities

• Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain consistency
• Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across mixed-age groups
• Help create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care
• Model patience, professionalism, and kindness in every interaction
