Restaurant Associates, part of Compass Group USA, is hiring an on-call Flex Culinary Worker in Washington, DC. The role prepares and serves high-quality meals in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen and supports event catering for museums, performing arts centers and corporations.

Schedule is on call; days and hours vary. Prior large-volume cooking experience is required. Pay ranges from $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, with benefits available for full-time and part-time associates.

Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty.
• Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
• Assists in ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
