Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Central Coast (CHCCC) seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care under the Health Center Manager and Clinic Services Supervisor. The MA performs clinical duties, handles patient intake, and assists with clerical tasks to maintain smooth clinic operations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, and CMA/RMA certification or the ability to obtain one within a year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or CMA/RMA certification (CA).
• If CMA/RMA not current, ability to pass within one year.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in Patient Care Team duties and activities.
• Provides quality customer service following AIDET standards.
• Administers medications per provider orders and consults with RN when needed.
• Performs vitals, immunization and preventative screening prep.
• Conducts in-house CLIA-waived tests and ensures daily quality controls.
• Supports referral and tracking for routine visits and external providers.
• Greets patients, escorts to examination room, and maintains waiting areas.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation in the EMR.
• May interpret between patient and provider when necessary.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments and prepares for sterilization.
