Job summary

Sodexo in Birmingham, AL is seeking a part-time Steward to support food service operations by keeping back-of-house areas clean, safe and organized. You will handle sanitation, warewashing, and equipment care to ensure readiness for service.

Under the Steward Supervisor and culinary leadership, you will adapt to event-driven needs across restaurants, banquets and catering, with shifts varying and open availability preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Previous experience in stewarding, sanitation, or food service support roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support opening and closing sanitation procedures for food service areas.
• Assist with organization and proper storage of equipment, supplies, and service ware.
• Handle waste, recycling, and grease removal in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain floors, drains, and work surfaces to meet cleanliness and safety standards.
• Ability to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
