Job summary

Westside Federation of Senior & Supportive Housing seeks a Kitchen Assistant to support meal service across 30+ sites in New York, NY. You will assist with distribution, service, and cleaning in a fast-paced kitchen environment under supervision of the Food Service Manager.

The role emphasizes capable teamwork, adherence to food safety procedures, and the ability to work independently as required. Per diem opportunities may lead to full-time employment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• In lieu of GED, at least 4 years of relevant kitchen experience.
• Active NYC food handler's certification required.

Responsibilities

• Clean food service areas, equipment, storage, and dining area.
• Dishwashing, pot washing, and related cleaning duties.
• Assist with distribution and setup of meal service per health procedures.
