WSFSSH, Inc. is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to support meal distribution, service and cleanup within our senior housing facility in New York. Under supervision of the Food Service Manager, you will assist with food preparation while following all safety procedures and regulations.

You will help maintain clean kitchen areas, handle dishwashing duties, and support with inventory, labeling, and stock rotation. The role emphasizes teamwork, respectful resident interaction, and ongoing skill

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Ability to prepare nutritious and appealing meals.
• Ability to follow kitchen procedures and protocols.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational ability and time management.
• Team focused and collaborative work style.
• Interest in supporting senior residents.

Responsibilities

• Clean food service areas, including equipment, kitchen, storage and dining areas.
• Dishwashing, pot washing, and other cleaning duties as assigned.
• Assist with meal service setup and distribution; help with food prep per safety procedures.
• Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries per NY health regulations.
• Label, date and rotate stock; participate in routine supervision meetings.
• Collaborate with residents and staff to maintain high levels of care and respect.
• Work cooperatively with kitchen team and other staff; communicate resident progress and issues.
