Job summary

Sunny Days & Sunshine Center in California is seeking a Child Development Specialist for Evaluation Only to support infants and toddlers and their families in home-based settings.

Responsibilities include developmental assessments, implementing the Parent Coaching Model, following IFSPs, and producing bi-annual progress reports. Flexible schedules and locations with eligibility for medical benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in child development or related field; Master’s degree required in Orange County.
• Early Intervention experience preferred.
• Home-based service delivery experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide child development services using the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon).
• Follow each child’s IFSP and work with the family to develop strategies to reach developmental goals.
• Utilize family-centered parent coaching to build caregivers’ confidence and ensure progress generalization.
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment (homes, daycare centers, community settings).
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual).
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and state/federal regulations.
