Job summary

Sunny Days of California, Inc. is seeking a Child Development Specialist to deliver home-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers in California. You will conduct developmental assessments and work with families to support each child’s goals in their natural environments.

The role emphasizes family-centered coaching, progress documentation, and HIPAA-compliant confidentiality. Flexible schedules and mission-driven team support are highlighted in the program description.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred or required (for Orange County only).
• Early Intervention experience preferred.
• Home-based service delivery experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide child development services using the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon).
• Follow each child’s IFSP and work with families to develop strategies to meet developmental goals.
• Utilize family-centered parent coaching to build caregiver confidence and skills, ensuring progress generalization.
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment: homes, daycare centers, and community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual).
• Maintain confidentiality of information about children and families (HIPAA/state/federal regulations).
