Job summary

Upbring in Corpus Christi is seeking a Center Floater for Early Head Start to provide flexible classroom support, assist teachers, and help create a safe, nurturing environment for young children. The role involves assisting with daily activities, supervision, meal routines and hygiene, and collaborating with families to support children’s needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; CDA credential program within 30 days or degree path with 15 credits in early childhood within two years or CDA earned within same timeframe.
• Preferred: CDA, CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with daily lesson plans, activities, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Ensure active supervision and safety of children in classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas.
• Provide support in multiple classrooms as needed, filling in for teachers or staff.
• Help with meal preparation, distribution, and clean-up while promoting healthy eating habits.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, and personal hygiene following Head Start guidelines.
• Foster positive interactions and support social-emotional development.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized classroom and learning materials setup.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support children’s and program’s needs.
• Follow Head Start standards, licensing regulations, and program procedures.
• Participate in trainings, staff meetings, and required certifications.
