Job summary

Teachers For Tomorrow in the Twin Cities metro seeks a Substitute Assistant Teacher to assist lead teachers in childcare centers, supporting daily routines and engaging children aged 6 weeks to 6 years in learning through play.

You will follow lesson plans, help supervise safety, support meals and transitions, and maintain confidential classroom records while contributing to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in early childhood education, child development, or related field, or a high school diploma plus 1,040 hours of paid experience with children under six and documented coursework in child development or early childhood education
• Experience in a licensed early childhood or childcare setting is strongly preferred
• At least 18 years old with reliable transportation and willingness to travel up to 25 miles
• Ability to pass a background check

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in supervising children and keeping them safe throughout the day
• Support meals, rest periods, transitions, and hands-on activities that promote social, emotional, and physical growth
• Help maintain classroom records, including attendance and observations, and keep information about children and families confidential
• Follow the lead teacher's lesson plans and classroom management approach, and step in with confidence when things get busy

Education
