UVA Health, part of The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia, seeks a Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse to practice across multiple ICUs in Charlottesville. You will provide advanced, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adults while adapting to different unit workflows and patient populations.

The role emphasizes cross-training in critical care specialties, collaboration with intensivists and ICU teams, and opportunities for both full-time and part-time schedules

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
• BSN within 5 years of hire is required.
• 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to high-acuity ICU patients across multiple units.
• Float between adult CCUs based on patient needs and staffing.
• Collaborate with intensivists, fellows, residents, and experienced ICU teams.
• Apply strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and prioritization in fast-paced settings.
• Support patients and families with professionalism and compassion.
• Offer shifts on both full-time and part-time bases.
