Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse to provide care across multiple adult ICU units. The role emphasizes flexibility, cross-training, and strong teamwork within a Magnet-recognized academic medical center.

You will deliver evidence-based nursing care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and adapt to varying unit workflows while maintaining clinical excellence and patient safety.

Qualifications

• RN license in Virginia; AHA BLS certification required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within 5 years of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience in critical care or ICU settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to high acuity ICU patients across multiple units.
• Float between adult critical care units based on patient needs and staffing.
• Collaborate with intensivists, fellows, residents, and ICU teams.
• Apply strong assessment skills, clinical judgment and prioritization in fast-paced situations.
• Support patients and families with professionalism, clarity and compassion.
