Job summary

Alameda Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for per diem, full-time or part-time flexibility in New Jersey. The role supports residents under a supervising OT, delivering ADL and ROM activities and participating in care planning with the rehab team.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited OTA program, current eligibility or licensure, and strong organizational and communication skills. Competitive benefits and flexible scheduling are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
• Must be certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist.
• Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises.
• Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist.
• Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
• Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities.
• Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated.
• Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy.
• Cleans, maintains, identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.
• Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.
