Job summary

Brookhaven Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare in New Jersey is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support residents with individualized therapy plans. The role operates under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist and offers full-time, part-time, or per diem schedules with competitive hourly rates.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, performing ADL and ROM activities, and coordinating with the rehab team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
• Certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB).
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist.
• Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises.
• Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist.
• Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
• Works with other rehab team members to develop programs and activities for each resident.
• Maintains resident documentation for all treated residents.
• Attends resident care and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy.
