Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with regulations and facility policy.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the five rights of medication administration and records all medications given.
• Notifies licensed staff when a resident reports pain and records vital signs as assigned.
• Records medications and treatments in the computer system and references resident information as needed.
• Responds to resident call lights, anticipates needs and rounds with nurse on shift.
• Observes for adverse reactions and reports them to a licensed nurse on shift.
• Performs resident care tasks to maintain safety and quality of care and supports a culture of safety.
