Job summary

Willow Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our care team. You will prepare, administer, and document medications for residents, ensuring orders are valid and resident identity is verified.

The role requires current CMA and CNA certifications in NC, active CPR, and strong communication, attention to detail, and teamwork. Proficiency with basic computer tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) is expected.

Qualifications

• Current and active CMA and CNA certification in North Carolina.
• Active CPR certification.
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
• Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional demeanor and confidentiality in resident care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document oral and topical medications accurately and safely.
• Ensure medications are only administered with a valid written order from a licensed physician.
• Confirm resident identity prior to administering medication.
• Observe and verify that medications are ingested or applied as directed.
• Document refusals or issues with medication administration.
• Assist with medication charting and inventory management.
• Order medications and supplies according to facility procedures.
• Maintain accurate narcotic records and report discrepancies.
• Adhere to facility policies regarding medication handling, storage, and destruction.
• Support Nurse Supervisor or Charge Nurse with delegated tasks.
