The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation invites qualified individuals to join our substitute teacher pool.

These as-needed positions support continuity in learning across PreK-12 within our 11-county area and align with Catholic values. As a substitute teacher, you deliver prepared lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, and ensure student safety and engagement to keep schools operating smoothly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Commitment to Catholic values and willingness to support the school’s mission.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to teach in various grade levels or subjects.
• Willingness to follow teacher’s lesson plans and support student learning.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Instruction and Student Supervision: Follow and deliver lesson plans leaving notes as needed.
• Maintain order and ensure safety in the classroom and school premises.
• Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
• Follow school safety and emergency procedures accurately.
• Communication: Communicate with school administration about student behavior or progress.
