Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is seeking substitute teachers to support ongoing student learning by delivering prepared lesson plans, managing classroom routines, and ensuring student safety.

This as-needed role helps maintain continuity when regular teachers are absent. Candidates should have at least 60 college credit hours, with a bachelor's degree preferred, strong classroom management and communication skills, and a commitment to Catholic values.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution.
• Commitment to Catholic values and willingness to support the school’s mission.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to teach in various grade levels or subjects.
• Willingness to follow teacher’s lesson plans and support student learning.

Responsibilities

• Follow and deliver lesson plans left by the regular teacher, adapting as necessary to meet student needs.
• Maintain order and ensure safety in the classroom and school premises.
• Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
• Follow school safety and emergency procedures accurately.
• Communicate with school administration about student behavior or progress.
• Leave notes on class progress and any challenges or highlights for the returning teacher.
